My good friend Mr. Knox has already posted some of his thoughts about tonight’s Oscars, but I figured I’d throw in my two cents as well. And I must say, I don’t know what happened, or who got the chemistry right, but this was the most engaging show I’ve ever seen the Oscars to be. Was it because of Hugh Jackman? I don’t know, but he gave every other host a run for their money, and that was in the shows opening alone.

The Oscar committee screwed up big time as far as I’m concerned when it came to who won the best make-up design. There is no way in Hell that “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” should have beaten “Hellboy 2.”
I personally have not seen all of “Benjamin Button,” but I did see enough to realize that it only really had the aging making up for Brad Pitt. Which I must admit was done with an amazing style. But it’s just one make-up effect. I can’t even begin to tell you how many different make-up effects are in “Hellboy 2.”

More than 7,000 moviegoers were surveyed by the online ticket purchasing company Fandango on the advice they’d give to the new producers of the Academy Awards. The awards are set to be telecast on February 22, according to a news release.
The results are part of a research for Fandango’s Awards Watch section.
Fandango’s awards survey was posted online from December 27-January 15, when more than 7,000 moviegoers responded with their Oscar show opinions and recommendations.
