Friday, April 10th, 9pm
Nine years later the Red Dwarf crew are older but still none the wiser. Lister’s busy day of annoying
Rimmer is interrupted by the discovery of a dimension-hopping leviathan in the ship’s mile-deep water tank.
Back To Earth – Part Two
Saturday, April 11th, 9pm
Rimmer’s replacement, Katerina (Sophie Winkleman), is determined to guide Lister back to his home planet.
But Earth in 2009 is not everything the boys had expected, and Rimmer has no intention of being replaced.
Back To Earth – Part Three
Sunday, April 12th, 9pm
Knowing they are destined to die, the Dwarfers head to a mysterious address in London to plead
for more life.
Destined to die? Rimmer’s replacement? A really, really big water tank? To find out what the hell
is really going on you’ll have to tune in to Dave!

Sophie Winkleman has joined the "Red Dwarf" cast for the new special.

Comic actress Sophie Winkleman has joined the “Red Dwarf” cast on set for the filming of a key role in “Back to Earth,” according to a news release. Shooting
began on D stage of the Shepperton studios on Monday, with the full
cast in attendance for a shoot of just over two weeks.
A former writer/performer with the Cambridge Footlights, Sophie is perhaps most
familiar to TV comedy fans as Jeremy’s sometime squeeze Big Suze in
Channel 4’s award-winning series “Peep Show.” As you can imagine, we’re
jolly excited.

The popular British comedy,”Red Dwarf” has been resurrected by digital channel Dave for a two-part Easter weekend special, which sees the cast finally return to Earth.
Written and directed by “Red Dwarf” co-creator Doug Naylor, the new show reunites the line-up, including Craig Charles of “Coronation Street.”

FROM THE OFFICIAL BBC DOCTOR WHO WEBSITE
The BBC announced that Matt Smith has been cast in the role of the Doctor in the iconic BBC series Doctor Who. Smith will be the eleventh Time Lord and will take over from David Tennant who leaves the show at the end of 2009. He will be seen in the forthcoming fifth series that will be broadcast in 2010.
The fifth series will also have a new lead writer and Executive Producer in the form of the BAFTA award winning writer Steven Moffat who is taking over from Russell T Davies. Moffat will be joined by Piers Wenger who will be the new Executive Producer for BBC Wales making the show.
Following David Tennant’s decision to step down at the end of 2009, the team behind the new series set about casting the new Doctor so that new adventures could be created and scripts written with Matt in mind.
