Finally, a “G.I. Joe” cartoon I can actually watch. And no surprise, since the scripts are brought to us by Warren Ellis, the comic scribe behind “Transmetropolitan” and “Planetary.”
Airing on Adult Swim, the episodes for the new cartoon, “G.I. Joe: Resolute,” run, on average, about five minutes each. So, it’s “Yo Joe,” for the ADHD soul. But damn if this show does not cram a lot of story inside of that time.
Believe it or not Tommy Chong still remembers the first time he ever smoked a joint, back in 1956 and still remembers the simple beauty of that particular day.
“A friend turned me on to a marijuana cigarette and a Lenny Bruce record,” Chong said in a phone interview. “It changed my life.”
This is by far one of the cheesiest movies I have seen come out so far this year, but I have to admit I didn’t really hate it. In fact I kind of had fun sitting through “Dragonball: Evolution.”
Now, granted a lot of that fun was caused by some of the unintentional humor developed through the story, but still it had me laughing in a couple of spots.
ModernFilmZine will be posting several interviews over the next few weeks, including Tommy Chong, Unknown Hinson, and Chris Browning, who is featured in the new “Terminator: Salvation” movie.

Victor Cook, who is also a producer on “The Spectacular Spider-Man” will be working off of a script by Brandon Auman, a writer for “Iron Man: Armored Adventures.”
Independent filmmakers now have a way to receive help from their fans with a new “Chip-In” program.
The new feature turns viewers into supporters, allowing them to give to their favorite Indie filmmakers as they watch the movies.
AmericaFree.TV, an internet television broadcaster developed the Chip-In” donation feature on its site. The feature gives web movie watchers the chance to become financial benefactors of their favorite indie film phenomenon.
