ModernFilmZine was founded in December 2008 as a creative outlet for and by Michael Knox, writer, reporter, director, producer and creative madman.

Michael worked as a reporter for the 10 years, contributing to various newspapers with articles on Owen Wilson, Cheech Marin, Paul Newman and others.  He engaged and covered the communities in which he lived, from typing obituaries to reporting on crime and breaking news.

Michael moved on to form his own film production company, Changing Elevations, Inc., with  business partners, Martin Ramsey and Ryan Haggerty. They have produced several short projects and commercials and completed their first feature film, a circus documentary titled, “Tearing Down the Tent,” which Michael directed.

The goal of Modern Film Zine is to discuss the state of modern film, as well as cover film festivals and celebrity interviews and the independent film scene. An e-zine by filmmakers, for filmmakers, Modern Film Zine is always looking for a great story from people making their way through the film industry.
